Welcome To The Lyme Fire Company100% Volunteer, 100% Of The TimeWho Are We?Welcome to the Lyme Fire Company located in Lyme, Connecticut. We are an all-volunteer fire and rescue service, community supported, and a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) founded in 1949. We serve a rural community of a little over 2,000 residents and rely on firefighting water through the use of tankers, mutual-aid neighboring town resources and strategically placed fill sites. We serve our community through two stations located in our hamlets of Hamburg and Hadlyme. The Hamburg station houses a class A engine, a tanker, a heavy rescue, a forestry unit, Gator, inflatable rescue boat and our antique 1932 Seagrave. Our Hadlyme station houses a class A engine, a second engine with rescue tools, and a forestry unit. Our volunteers are well trained and dedicated men and women. We are also fortunate to be supported by our own Auxiliary of the Lyme Fire Company. Please feel free to stop by either the Hamburg or Hadlyme fire stations on the first Tuesday of every month at 7:30pm for a tour of our facilities and apparatus or if you are interested in becoming a member and would like to receive an application.More on The Lyme Fire Company

Continuing Our Traditions100% Volunteer, 100% Of The TimeThe Lyme Fire Company TodayToday, The Lyme Fire Company continues to serve the town of Lyme, with a population of around 2,500 residents in a rural setting of 35 square miles. We still respond out of two stations in the hamlets of Hamburg and Hadlyme, and answer an average of 120 calls for service annually. We continue to meet on Tuesday nights around 7:00PM, please fell free to stop by for a tour of the station and to meet the members, or visit us at our annual BBQ and open house in the summer. Hamburg station now houses Engine Y-11, Tanker Y-14, Rescue Y-17, Forestry Y-13, a Zodiac boat, and our UTV Gator. Lyme Ambulance Association also houses their ambulance Y-100 in Hamburg. Also housed at hamburg is our award winning 1932 Seagrave, which began serving Lyme as Engine 3 in 1954, and now serves as an antique that has won many awards, including numerous best antique motorized titles at the annual state convention. Hadlyme station houses Engine Y-21, Engine Y-22 and Forestry Y-24, as well as ambulance Y-200 for the Lyme Ambulance Association. We continue to respond to just about every type of incident imaginable, though the majority of our calls are still made up of the usual smells and bells. Many things have changed over the years, but one thing remains constant; Our members remain dedicated and passionate about serving their community. The Lyme Fire Company continues to uphold the tradition that started some 67 years ago with our founding members, and today, it is still true to it’s slogan; “Members Of The Community, Serving The Community.”Meet Our OfficersMeet Our MembersLyme Fire Company 1949-1999

Josh AdamsAssistant ChiefI joined the department as soon as I turned 16 in 2006 and have never looked back. Since joining I have enjoyed new friendships, participated in numerous training and certification classes, and have had the opportunity to attend the National Fire Academy in Emmitsburg. The experiences I have had with the department shape the man I am today, pushing me to pursue a career as a Firefighter and a Paramedic. I look forward to interactions with the community and always enjoy answering questions about what we do.

What's Happening?News Regarding Lyme Fire CompanyRecent Responses3/9/2018: March came in like a lion for the Lyme Fire Company. The department has responded to 25 calls for service already this month, with 15 incidents occurring yesterday. The majority of the incidents have been calls for power lines and trees down on roadways. We also had a call for a structure fire which turned out to be a generator and the small shed it as stored in, both were a total loss.Announcements02/20/18: Thanks to the generous support and donations from our community, the Lyme Fire Company was able to purchase new battery powered extrication tools as no cost to the town. The new tools were used during training this evening and performed impressively.Local WeatherCheck Out Our Annual Events
